NPR report on torture and television


The Fox Network series 24 features a hero who is not shy about using torture to achieve his objectives. The portrayal of torture as a positive tool worries human-rights watchers as well as the general who heads up West Point. They say the portrayals may be influencing military interrogators.

New Book: Reading 24

Reading 24: TV against the Clock, a new volume of essays edited by Steven Peacock was published this week under I. B. Tauris's imprint "Reading Contemporary Television". Over the next few days i am going to be writing short reviews of each essay.
